No one likes recycling fees, but sometimes they are necessary. Retro-Tech could not complete our mission without them. Some items are expensive to recycle. For example, old TV sets and computer monitors require special white room condition to break down components due to the lead in the cathode ray tube. Other items are similarly expensive to recycle for one reason or another.
The current economic conditions have required us to re-examine our fee structure as the value of the recyclable material has fallen appreciably.
Fees are charged for both working and non-working items. We have no facility to test items for resellable condition as they come in from donation. Our current fee structure is listed below.
Please understand that for every $1 recycling fee we collect, Retro-Tech pays approximately $1.79* to recycle materials. We are not making money from this service. We believe in recycling. It is part of our mission.

We No Longer accept broken or exposed tubes of any kind.
We No Longer accept Air Conditioners, Dehumidifiers or other freon devices.
We do NOT accept large appliances (Washers, Dryers, Stoves, Refrigerators, etc).
We also do not recycle non electronics such as yard waste, paper, soda cans, common plastics, etc.
All other items are accepted at no cost.
