We encourage businesses as well as individuals to donate their new and used computers as well as any other electronics which are no longer in use. Such donations keep the equipment out of the landfill and help those in need when Retro-Tech refurbishes the equipment for placement or resale.

To protect your privacy, we destroy any data on donated systems before refurbishing them. A Certificate of Destruction is available upon request. The retail outlet provides all kinds of electronics for reuse - without your donations we would be unable to provide this valuable service.

Recycling Fees

No one likes recycling fees, but sometimes they are necessary. Retro-Tech could not complete our mission without them. Some items are expensive to recycle. For example, old TV sets and computer monitors require special white room condition to break down components due to the lead in the cathode ray tube. Other items are similarly expensive to recycle for one reason or another.

The current economic conditions have required us to re-examine our fee structure as the value of the recyclable material has fallen appreciably. Our current fee structure is listed on our recycling page.

Fees are charged for both working and non-working items. We have no facility to test items for resellable condition as they come in from donation.

Retro-Tech, like all businesses, has needs for which it is responsible to purchase on the open market. If you possess the skills we are required to procure and are willing to provide them pro bono, your services would be greatly appreciated.

Don't have time but still want to help our cause? Financial donations are always welcomed and we can provide a tax deductible receipt for your generous contribution. Financial donations help us meet overhead and provide more services and spend less on expenses.
